Pranayama is ancient practice that is mainly concerned with breath control. It aims to bring the involuntary mechanisms of respiration under human control. It is derived from two Sanskrit words “Prana”- which means life force and “Ayama”- which means control. There are six types of Pranayama such as Bhastrika Pranayama, Kapalbhati Pranayama, Anulom-Vilom Pranayama, Bahya Pranayama, Bhramari Pranayama and Udgeeth Pranayama. Each of these types have their own way of performing and each of them have their of health benefits.
