Many people have been affected from the problem of snoring. Efforts made might have failed miserably. Sleeping next to a person snoring is a nightmare for many. Snoring results from the vibrations of certain tissues that present in our breathing track. More often some people fail in recognizing that they snore because they do not hear their own snore and they come to know only when they are told by some other person. To tackle with any problem, it is better if you know the main causes for the problem.

There are various causes for snoring problem. The main cause is an obstruction the breathing track, which are usually the fat tissues developed around the neck region or the throat. Snoring may be caused by a collapse of the neck or the throat muscles, which is nothing but the ingestion of muscle relaxant medicine, alcohol, smoking or other antihistamines. It may also be caused due to the sleeping position that one assumes or the misplacement of jaw or tongue while sleeping. It may also be caused due to lack of sleep and tiredness which results in disturbed sleep and varied energy levels.

The various remedies for the snoring problem include:

Elevating the position of the head might resolve the problem.

Sleeping with on two or more pillows reduce snoring.

Another way for treating a snore is shedding excess weight.

Smoking causes snoring problem. By quitting it, you can overcome snoring problem.

Finally the snoring problem can be resolved with a surgery where the throat is widened by removing fat lining it.

But surgery should be the last resort to overcome snoring problem. Other methods have to be tried and tested before opting for a surgery. Consult a doctor for your treatment options if you have snoring problem consistently.

Doing various exercises are effective and solves snoring problems. Many parts of the neck and face need exercises to tone up the fat present in those areas. Following such exercises regularly will show results within a month. A few of them are to close your mouth and yawn, press your tongue against your teeth if possible while yawning with a closed mouth. Another exercise is laughing with a closed mouth and effective if you do not make any sound. The simplest of all is to stick out your tongue horizontally till some tension or soreness is felt. Try it for thirty seconds and repeat it frequently till you are comfortable.
