Anger is experienced by most of the people at some time or the other. It is a very powerful and negative emotion that creates vigorous blockages within physical and mental bodies of the individual. Anger management is meant to help individuals in making an effort to understand why they are constantly having anger break outs and help them to find solutions to manage their anger.

Yoga is considered of the most efficient methods to control anger. Knowing the root cause of anger would be helpful while managing anger. Identify the causes that trigger your anger. This helps in managing anger. One should overcome anger since it destroys peace of mind and causes health problems including physical and mental problems. Practicing yoga will definitely help in anger management. You can attend yoga classes as well for anger management.

The conventional remedies for anger management includes: suppression, expression and diversion. Suppression is done by taking deep breaths. Expression is a method carried out in a few places where you will be able to take out your anger, frustration and stress on certain objects either by hitting or throwing object. Diversion method allows you to divert away from the source of anger. But this may result in the return of the anger very soon.

Yoga involves various physical postures and meditation (Pranayama). Controlled breathing has calming effect on the individual. Take a deep breath through nose and exhale from the mouth. Restart with normal breathing after a few minutes. Repeat this process for a few more couple of times. Hold the breath as long as you are physically comfortable. These methods will also teach you the power of forgiveness. Hatha yoga also helps in anger management. Attend yoga classes and learn the yoga poses from a tutor. You will see the difference within a few days.

Neck pain is a common complaint or an issue among the people who spend lot of hours in front of desktop or driving. The improper postures while typing makes you bend forward which puts a lot of pressure on the neck region. The pain in the neck spreads to the shoulders and sometimes to the arms as well.

The various reasons for neck pain include using a high raised pillow while sleeping, keeping a bent posture for long hours and sometimes it maybe caused due to the obstruction of blood flow caused by the rigidity of nerves and muscles. It can also be caused due to an accident as well. Consult your doctor if the neck pain comes very consistently or persists even after 2-3 days. Prevention is always better than cure. Improve your postures, check the pillow height and manage your stress levels in order to prevent neck pains.

Certain yoga exercises can provide relief for the neck pain. Follow a proper diet and correct your postures along with practicing yoga. Certain yoga exercises such as Bhujangasana, Trikonasana etc. are helpful in treating neck pain. The chin lock and the neck rotation method in clockwise and anti-clockwise direction can also be tried for treating neck pain.

Neck stretches can be tried in the sitting posture to treat neck pain. Rolling your head in full circles can worsen the situation. So, avoid full circles and try only half circle rolling of your neck. Perform arm lifts and shoulder moves i.e. hunching of shoulders as much as possible and relaxing. The chest expander can also be tried while curing neck pain.

Yoga is known to treat almost all kinds of diseases and problems and relieve the psychological and physical effects on your body. Yoga has been known to greatly reduce stress using many stress-reducing techniques. Understanding the cause for stress is very important to get out of it. It is always easier if you know the cause of any problem and it is the same in the case of stress as well.

Stress relief can be achieved through yoga by following various techniques such as exercising, breath-control, clear the mind and relax the body. By involving all the above mentioned techniques, you can get relieved from stress effectively. Doing only few of them might not help you de-stress effectively. These techniques are carried out as follows:

Exercise: The Hatha Yoga involves physical practice of yoga and is of various types where a few focus on stretching while the others focus on fast workouts. Select a yoga that suits your personality and physical fitness. Stress is relieved by any exercise as well as yoga by keeping the body healthy.

Breath-Control: Pranayama is an important and powerful practice along with performing yoga. It can be performed anywhere and anytime to reduce your stress levels. Deep-breathing can be done by sitting straight and inhaling from your nose and exhaling from your mouth. Try holding breath as long as possible along with inhaling and exhaling as slowly as possible.

Clear the mind: There are various scenarios and pressures that dwell in your mind and increase stress levels. The mind can be controlled using various techniques; one of them is the breath work as mentioned above. The best way to clear the mind is by practicing meditation. Start off with meditation in a calm environment, sitting in a comfortable position, point yourself towards a focus and observe the point with a non-critical attitude.

Relax the body: the relaxation in yoga is made by the corpse pose (Shavasana). It serves the purpose of releasing both body and mind. It gets you back to the world with a refreshing feel to fight stress.

By following these techniques, you can de-stress yourself. These techniques are very effective and powerful in reducing stress.

Pranayama is ancient practice that is mainly concerned with breath control. It aims to bring the involuntary mechanisms of respiration under human control. It is derived from two Sanskrit words “Prana”- which means life force and “Ayama”- which means control. It is defined as the proper utilization of the life force (prana) to make remarkable changes in your health and live your life to the fullest.

There are six types of Pranayama such as Bhastrika Pranayama, Kapalbhati Pranayama, Anulom-Vilom Pranayama, Bahya Pranayama, Bhramari Pranayama and Udgeeth Pranayama. Each of these types have their own way of performing and each of them have their of health benefits.

On the whole, the benefits of Pranayama include:

Pranayama helps in reducing the breathing rate to almost one-thirds, which leads to reduced wear and tear of internal organs, decreasing high blood pressure, relaxation of body tensions, and more oxygen is pumped in blood due to slow breathing.

The longevity of the life depends on the breathing rate as per the philosophy of yoga. Hence, lowering the breathing rate leads to increased life-span.

Pranayama improves circulation of the blood as more fresh oxygen is pumped into heart from the lungs due to slower breathing.

It helps in enhancing the sharpness of mind. Studies have reported that the concentration is improved by the practice of Pranayama.

Pranayama helps you to get out of negative qualities in a very short course of time.

It helps in enhancing immunity against diseases. The toxins in body parts are flushed out due to the flow of healthy blood.

Pranayama helps in digestive system as well. It creates considerable massage to the gastro-intestinal tract, thus improving the digestive system. People suffering from acidity/gastritis can try Pranayama to cure it.

Pranayama is said to develop the feeling of social well-being. It improves the will power and the mental and physical health improves as well.

Yoga is believed to be the best way to keep your mind, body and soul healthy. Remember, yoga does not build your muscles, it only tones up your body and makes it more flexible. Just as any other exercise, you have to choose only those yoga postures that are ideal for you and suits best to you. To know this, it is always better to consult a yoga instructor. The basic goal of yoga is uniting the mind, body and soul. Yoga demands a certain mental concentration as well and to help you engage your mind, you will have to concentrate on your breathing.

Regular stretches will help in the flexibility of the muscles and frees the body. Stretching makes the muscles more strong and work efficiently as the blood circulation improves. The joints will work better and will operate to their maximum range. As they include breathing techniques and meditation mechanisms, yoga helps for the better functioning of the overall systems and not just flexibility of the body.

There are many types of yoga and choosing the right type is a bit tricky if you are not opting for the help of an instructor. The yoga poses to be learned as a beginner which can aid or supplement your knowledge from your yoga classes are as follows:

The Sun Salutation [Surya Namaskara]: It is the core of yoga which involves 12 poses and is done as a warm up exercise before starting the yoga class. It involves timely movement along with rhythmic breathing.

The Shoulder Stand [Sarvangasana]: It is a simple pose but a very important one for a beginner.

The Corpse Pose [Shavaasana]: It is method of relaxation which is done after the yoga session is completed. It is done for about 15 minutes.

Meditation and Pranayama: Meditation helps in improving concentration levels and Pranayama refers to a breathing technique which produces a large amount of energy.

Yoga is a method of objective and rational exercises that was very first originated in India about quite a few years ago. Yoga serves as the most motivating activities that one can employ often. It is of more fun, relaxing and also is very demanding to beginners. The principle of yoga is to help us attain our furthermost potential and also to provide an experience of everlasting health and happiness. The most unique characteristic of yoga is that, it is suitable for all aged group people irrespective of the gender and health. One can practice yoga anywhere and at any time. You do not even need any kind of special equipment to practice it. It is very easy when compared to the other form of exercises and it is very much enough if you are able to spend only a few minutes in the morning practicing yoga and you will be completely ready and refreshed for starting a new day freshly.

The fact that defines yoga uniquely from any other sport activities is that it refreshes your body, mind and the soul simultaneously. Where as the other form of exercise is primarily focused on maintaining a fit healthy body and building muscles. This is the uniqueness of the yoga that it not only concentrates on the physical fitness of our body but also concentrates on mental health and also as well as on your spiritual well being. There are about 12 different styles in yoga. Even though all these styles are commonly based on the similar kind of physical postures, each one of them has a particular prominence. The four most popular styles of yoga are- Hatha, Kundalini, Bikram and Ashtanga. Each one of these is discussed below as follows:

The Hatha is the most popular style of yoga in use. It acts as the underpinning of all other yoga styles. It follows a kind of technique where in you move the body parts in a slow and very smooth manner by doing many different poses which are often called as asanas. It serves the best for beginners of yoga practice. It involves only slow paced stretching along with few breathing exercises and meditation. Many classes at the start will integrate this form of the yoga style wherein you learn just the basic poses and some relaxation methods so that you adapt yourself to yoga as early as possible.

Another form of yoga is the Kundalini, which is a very ancient style of yoga that is in much practice only at the west of lately. The importance of this style is that it employs in breathing in conjunction with the physical body movement. This form of yoga gives more spiritual feel when compared to that of the Hatha and primarily focuses on balancing the energy in your body. But this form involves rapid movement of the body parts through different postures and concentrates more on breathing, chanting and meditation. In the Kundalini series style, each of the exercise is done according to specific breaths that generally do affect the poses intensively. The main goal in performing this exercise is usually to release the energy that is contained in the lower extremities of the body by moving it in the upward direction. Most of the beginners who are unknown about the yoga will normally find it more rationally and physically challenging when compared to the other styles. Basically Kundalini is more physically concentrated and is also considered as the most spiritual kind of yoga in practice compared to the other forms.

The next popular style of yoga is the Bikram which is often termed as the hot yoga as this is the only form of yoga that is normally carried out in a fiery environment. It is a sort of wide-ranging workout with all the mechanisms of fitness such as muscular strength and endurance, loss of weight and cardiovascular flexibility. The fiery room temperature is generally maintained at 95-100 degrees. The heat and energy expelled in this vital yoga mechanism allows us to release toxins through the sweat glands. Also this yoga form warms up the muscles and joints in turn increasing the flexibility. This kind of yoga is not suggested to pregnant women and for people who are suffering from heart problems and high blood pressure as it is very laborious. But it is highly recommendable for people who are injured as it serves a therapy in order to improve the injured limbs bodily fitness and the movement range.

Now the most popular among all the yoga forms is the Ashtanga which is often referred as power yoga. In Sanskrit, Ashtanga means 8 limbs which are referred to the 8 limbs of the yoga. Because of the steady movement of the various poses, this is style is physically challenging. Six of the different Ashtanga series are available and the student’s progress depends on their own pace. It is a kind of vital and athletic form of style and is more suitable to people who are very independent in nature and posses a sense of order. But this type of style is not ideal for beginners of yoga who are not in an excellent physical state, as this requires one to jump while changing to the next posture.

So if you are planning to take up yoga, then try one of these forms for sure as a beginner. Each of the forms is defined uniquely which improves your mental and physical health.
